Bio
I started my outdoor pursuits at the ripe age
of twelve years old. I cut my teeth in the outdoors like many others by obsessively
chasing squirrels with my single shot twenty gauge. I also began deer hunting
at twelve but was such a novice that I did not end up bagging a buck (my first deer) until I was seventeen. I was also fortunate to start my true passion, bow hunting, at the age of thirteen. I can’t tell you how many deer I missed before actually bagging a deer with a bow, but it didn’t
matter because I was completely hooked.
I did not begin turkey hunting until I was in
my late teens. I had no idea what I was missing.
My brother and I were fortunate to be able to hunt a farm that was loaded with turkeys that were definitely not call
shy. We both became quickly educated to the ways of the wily eastern gobbler.
Now, many deer and turkey later, I am passing
on the outdoor lifestyle to my children. I can’t think of a better way
to raise my children than taking them outdoors. Whether we are walking, fishing, hunting or whatever, I will pass this
heritage to my offspring. Children need models not critics, and I hope to be
that model.
